2020 Trends & Sales
I’m packing up my Fall and Winter wardrobe because I am ready for Spring! However, one of my favorite times to shop for Fall and Winter clothes is actually in February, right after Fashion Week. Why you ask?
For those that don’t know, Fashion Week is where top fashion designers and brands showcase their latest fashion for the upcoming seasons. This is how designers influence the trends in seasons to come. By getting a glimpse of these trends, I am able to shop smarter and utilize the big sales that are going on now.
So what does our future wardrobe look like for Fall 2020/ Winter 2021? Lots of bright colors, leather, plaids, cutouts, tailored pieces, bows, capes, ponchos, statement coats, and florals, just to name a few. Below, I have listed some of the trends and linked TCW’s favorite sale pieces for each trend.
The Colors For Fall 2020/Winter 2021
The color for Fall is going to be, Amberglow! This is just a fancy name for a bright orange. In addition to Amberglow, the Pantone Color Institute also released colors like Samba Red, Ultramarine Green, Bright Yellow, Classic Blue etc.. So for fall, think jewel tones, or as one article stated, “the colors are like the changing leaves in fall.” This should excite all the orange fans out there because there may be lots of orange options to shop for this fall football season!
Pictured here was my look for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s St. Valentine’s Day Luncheon. Though it’s not a true “Samba Red”, it’s a fiery orange red that is perfect all year! One of my favorite styling techniques is to color play. I love to wear a bright color and pair it with a different bright color shoe or handbag. For fall, I will wear this dress with a leopard fur coat, or even a white coat like pictured above.

The Trends for Fall 2020/Winter 2021
Leather & Faux Leather
Leather is becoming the new wardrobe staple and a must to have in your closet. My pants are called a “coated denim” which gives that waxy look to them like leather. This is a great alternative when trying to achieve that leather look. I know it’s hard to buy leather right now, but with savings this big, now is the time to do so! Even faux leather is getting expensive, so snag some of these pieces for great prices or on major discount!

Plaids & Tailored Pieces
This past Fall, I had a bit of buyer’s remorse after purchasing this top and when I received it, I loved it so much and all that remorse went away! This top is now under $100 (of course) and such a timeless style. The orange in the plaid, make this a perfect grab for the upcoming Fall Season.

Florals
Whoever said that florals are only popular in Spring were mistaken. Stock up on these TCW floral picks that you can wear all year round! I’ve really been drawn to florals lately and have found some great pieces on major sale too!
Side Note: This dress would be my pick for an Ole Miss Game Day. It is a little more of an orangey red, but it still works!
This one shoulder Veronica Beard dress comes in another style (linked below) and is my favorite dress to wear to a wedding or a cocktail party! This dress can take you from Fall to Spring easily because of the darker floral print.
Snagged this on major sale and the orange is on trend for Fall! Another great pick for a cocktail party, a wedding, the beach, or even a night out!

Clothes with Bows
Think ribbon neckties, ruffles, and big puffy sleeves. I read somewhere a great style tip… get a piece of black ribbon and tie it around any blouse, and you can achieve this look instantly. My favorite bow, a Pussycat Bow Blouse and keep finding great blouses under $20! Linked many below.
